Jay Ipson, his mother, and his mother’s father wait in line in Kovno Concentration Camp to be deported to Riga, Latvia, October 1943. A Jewish ghetto policeman pulled them out of the line and sent them home to rejoin Jay’s father, but the rest of his mother’s family were deported for execution.
